Five players hit double digits as Herreid-Selby Area crushed McIntosh, 81-36, at Selby on Saturday, Feb. 9. The Lady Wolverines raced ahead 14-2 in the first quarter before leading 18-7 at the quarter stop and continued to increase their lead throughout the game which improves their season record to 17-1.

The Herreid/Selby Area Wolverines traveled to Onida last week Tuesday to face the Sully Buttes Chargers in a YTC contest. The Chargers brought in a 7-6 record, while the Wolverines were 7-7 entering the contest.

The Lady Tigers were unable to hold off the Stanley County Buffalos Friday night, Feb. 8. They gave up a five point lead in the fourth quarter and lost, 40-37.

Mobridge-Pollock stormed back from a 12 point first half deficit to defeat the Crow Creek Chieftains, 63-51, Friday night on the Chieftains’ court.

Mobridge-Pollock defeated the Standing Rock Warriors for the second time this season on Tuesday, Feb. 5 in Mobridge. The Tigers swept past the Warriors, 70-54.

History repeated itself when the Lady Wolverines connected on a buzzer beater to defeat Linton-HMB by one point again this year. Herreid-Selby Area over came an early fourth quarter deficit of seven points for the 44-43 win at Linton on Saturday, Feb. 2. Last season a three-point shot at the buzzer lifted H-SA to a 36-35 win over the Lions.

The Herreid/Selby Area Wolverines traveled to Aberdeen last Tuesday evening to face an unfamiliar opponent in the Summit Eagles. Summit brought in a 7-6 overall record and was trying to avoid going on a three game skid; while Herreid/Selby Area was 6-6 and was trying to get back above the .500 mark.

Herreid-Selby Area came up short in the battle of the undefeated as the Lady Wolverines fell to Summit 62-38 in Aberdeen on Tuesday, Jan. 29. Ranked first in the state for Class B, Summit pulled away from a tied up game midway through the first quarter to outscore H-SA 33 to nine in the rest of the first half.

The Lady Wolverines converted 15 of 24 free throws in the final quarter to outlast McLaughlin 61-53 in Herreid on Monday, Jan. 21. Herreid-Selby Area, now 12-0, is ranked third in the Class B polls.
